As a clinical dentist and academician, with a genuine interest in the material sciences, I’ve worked extensively with plastic resins. I’ve also had woodworking and wood carving as hobbies throughout my life. Now in my retirement, I have discovered a unique blend of the two mediums with the creation of vases and sconces. Wood, from fronds of the Palmetto, is the primary component.
My work is a tribute to the palmetto as a South Carolina icon and to the hidden geometries that organize natural growth.
